So many kids are now reporting anxiety in schools that it’s almost the new state of normal. It’s not just treatment that is required but proactive skill development to help kids and adults better cope with stress and make healthy decisions for their lives.

Today, take a lesson from Stephen Liptrap of Morneau Shepell and get accountable.   Don’t wait until the stress is overwhelming, reflect on how you are proactively looking after your mental health.

Notice the small signs that your coping mechanisms may not be keeping up – insomnia, mood disregulation, worsening health concerns, exhaustion, and commit to being part of the solution.  If you are too busy to do it for yourself, do it for your kids.  They learn primarily through modelling and we can make huge strides in childhood wellbeing by looking after our own.
